The Vircom Online
Platform (VOP) Radius, is a high performance and robust RADIUS server application.
VOP Radius allows Network Managers; Internet Service Providers (ISPs); and Remote Access Services Providers to monitor and centralize "authentication", "authorization" and "accounting" of their local and roaming users.
Reliability Through VOPWatch Technology
Our VOPWatch technology makes it possible for a thread to watch over all the other threads to ensure they
are working properly. If a thread fails, the VOP Radius server is automatically restarted by the VOP Watch
thread.
High-Performance Through Multi-Threaded Design
VOP Radius, being designed around a multi-threaded engine, can take advantage of any dual-CPU machine

Authenticates Using Different Datasource Types
Users can be authenticated using different membership databases, including ODBC compliant databases,
NT/SAM, or a text file (Livingston or UNIX password format).
Seamless Third-Party Software Integration
Since VOP Radius integrates very well with popular NT-based ISP billing software like: iBOB, RODOPI,
ISP-Power, Platypus, Hawk-i, Emerald and others. It also comes with a "generic" interface for
ISPs that operate a homegrown billing system.
Sophisticated Login Control
You can use VOP Radius to prevent abuse by enforcing concurrent login limits. You can also restrict access
via time-of-day or day-of-week and even allow users only to login through specific NAS's or ports.
Proxy Server Capability
VOP Radius can serve as a proxy to other RADIUS servers so you can easily distribute authentication and
accounting packets over your network. Works with Ascend, 3COM, Livingston, Merit, Microsoft servers and
more.
Roaming Enabled
Supports unlimited roaming based on the Realm, source IP or DNIS number. Works with many roaming networks,
including USOnline, RODOPI, MegaPOP, InterPass, GRIC, IPASS, ZipLink. Proxy and Roaming authentication
capabilities.
Roaming User Statistics
Users who gain access via Roaming are shown in the statistic report file, listing the total number of
roaming users that were active on any given NAS unit.
Administrative Email Alerts
Sends an email to you when a critical error is encountered. Send it to a mail server with a mail-to-pager
add-on and you could hear it too!
Smart Caching
All authenticated packets are cached. If contact is lost with the main datasource, the user is
authenticated from the cache file, ensuring continuous operation.
Unlimited Realm Support
Realms can be used with either a prefix or a suffix along with DNIS based identification support in
conjunction with multiple databases.
SNMP Synchronization
Used to synchronize the active user listing with the real status of your Network Access Server (NAS).
Real-time Access Monitoring
Our "Users Online" interface logs usage information for each NAS and each user in real-time.
Configuration Wizard
Simplifies the process of setting up the RADIUS server for the first time.
Continuous Logging to ODBC
The error log and the "Users Online" listing can both be exported to an ODBC database.
